Shift At Midnight: Start Here Before Your First Shift
A source-checked first-shift briefing for Shift At Midnight, including the current co-op design, guide boundaries, and where to verify changes.
Your first decision is group size
The official launch material describes online co-op designed for up to three players. A later patch added a host setting for as many as six, but the developer explicitly warns that the game remains designed for one to three. If you are learning the game, the documented design range is the safer baseline.
Use the desk by problem
- Open Saving and autosave before assuming there is a manual-save button.
- Open Multiplayer player limit before building a four-to-six-player plan.
- Open Endless Mode status because current official descriptions conflict.
- Open Black screen status for the known report pattern, not a made-up universal fix.
- Open Marionette evidence for what reports agree on and where they disagree.
What this briefing deliberately does not claim
The reviewed sources do not support a complete customer-by-customer route or a universal combat build. Those pages should only be published after current-build evidence exists. The source panel on every page tells you whether an answer is official, community-reported, or only partially verified.
